Kids Will Never Say, "I'm Bored."

Like the Magic and Wonder, the Disney Spirit is designed with families in mind.  And families with adventurous teens and ‘tweens are its specialty.

While trained counselors closely supervise kids 3 -12 in high-energy activities by day and calmed-down movie times at night, teens from 13 -17 can choose from supervised activities or clubs, lounges or game rooms created just for them.  Teen and college-age guests from 18 -20 are welcome in all public areas of the ship, but are not permitted to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Moms and Dads of kids of all ages can always keep in contact with counselors and kids using free provided pagers.

Teens

There are more activities for teens on the Disney Spirit than on any other cruise ship today.  In addition to the sure-to-be-popular Rainforest Canyon water park, Big Kahuna wave and surf pool, Volcanic Rock Wall, specialized teen spa offerings, Kilohōkū Hale Observatory, and Nemo's Pahu i'a & Shark Reef, teens have the following places to call their own.

The Kilohana Club

Teens will discover the ultimate hangout at this club packed with music, movies on big screen plasma TVs, games, Internet connections, and activities from morning back into the wee hours.  Its name is Hawaiian for “most excellent” and teens are sure to think so too.

At the Club, Cast Member counselors allow teens to just hang back or take part in some of the following activities:  Backstage Tours, Karaoke, Talent Shows, Learn to Be a DJ, Sports Tournaments, Scavenger Hunts, Video Game Challenge, Teen Dinners, Movie Nights, and Parties.

Hang Loose

Located within the Kilohana Club, Hang Loose is the place where the party is.  Teens can move to live bands or DJs playing a mix of dance sounds or just join their friends in a safe environment until 2 am.

Baggies

The Spirit's Hawaiian surfing-themed bar for teens is located on The Road to Hana nightclub district.  Nightly DJs or live bands serve up a mellower sound than Hang Loose, and is also open until 2 am.

Disney’s Island Adventurers

Kids ages 8 - 12 will become young adventurers learning about their Hawaiian destination from history and culture to traditional foods and dress to indigenous plants and animals.  Interactive experiments and demonstrations at the  Kilohōkū Hale Observatory and Nemo's Pahu i'a & Shark Reef will further stretch their minds and imaginations.  Artistic projects and backstage tours at the Walt Disney Theatre will also be offered.

Trained counselors will supervise kids in featured arts and science programs also including Mickey’s Magic Revealed; Un-Birthday parties with Alice and the Mad Hatter; Animation Creation; Talent Shows; Theme Parties; and Movie Nights with themed games and snacks!  ‘Tweens ages 11-12 can also just “hang out” in the club to watch movies or spend time with friends.

Families and kids of all ages will also enjoy Studio High 5ive for activities such as live and interactive games, classes,  demonstrations, karaoke contests, talent shows, and after-dinner family parties.

Menehune Club

Kids from ages 3 to 7 will discover endless activities in this rainforest room named for the menehune of Hawaiian mythology—small but skilled and imaginative craftspeople who lived in the forests of the Hawaiian islands long before the first Polynesian settlers arrived.

Trained counselors will supervise and inspire kids in featured programs including Mickey’s Marching Band; Un-Birthday parties with Alice and the Mad Hatter; Dancing with Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty or Belle; Talent Shows; Face Painting; Ice Cream Parties; and Movie Nights in pajamas with themed games and snacks!  Kids age 5 – 7 may also have onboard “field trips” to Kilohōkū Hale Observatory and Nemo's Pahu i'a & Shark Reef.

Age-appropriate “lessons” in local food, places and customs, such as making pineapple whips with Lilo and Stitch, are also included for all ages.

Flounder’s Reef Nursery

As on the Magic and Wonder, kids from 12 weeks to 36 months will feel at home in this Disney nursery and babysitting area staffed by trained counselors.  Active babies, crawlers and toddlers will enjoy age-appropriate play with Mickey’s Music and Movement Time; drawing, building and painting tables, and Goofy Get-Ups for dress-up princess or action hero fun while listening to favorite Disney stories.  Age-appropriate toys will also reinforce everyday learning about colors, shapes, letters and numbers.
