Nightclubs and Lounges
on The Road to Hana
Nightlife options
are abundant for our adult and teen cruisers in nine differently-themed clubs and lounges on the Disney Spirit. They’re great places to hit the dance or floor or just relax with new or old
friends, have quiet romantic cocktails and conversation, or grab a nightcap after a show.
On the Magic
there’s Beat Street. The Wonder has Route
66. And on the Spirit, the Road to Hana is the place to find adult nightlife. Named for the 53 mile road from Kahulai Airport on Maui to the remote town of Hana
that’s filled with over 600 curves and 54 bridges, the Road to Hana is a destination itself. Bigger than the nightlife district on its sister ships and expanded over two decks, the Spirit’s
Road to Hana, will offer passengers these roadside watering holes:
Ukulele Leili’s
Karaoke after
dinner and a show turns to the hottest late-night disco on the ship at this two-story club that rivals any in downtown Honolulu or any city worldwide.
The largest disco on any active cruise ship, Ukulele Leili’s offers nightly live bands on its lower level and
DJs up above. Featuring pop to techno to classic punk, this hot location will
keep passengers dancing late into the night. Cutting-edge bands direct from Hawaii and the Pacific Islands are also featured weekly.
Outriggers
Lean back and follow sports back home, watch Hawaiian sporting events or just hang loose with friends in this casual
sports-themed bar. Complete with surfing, outrigging and Hawaiian extreme sports
motifs, your attention will be kept by big-screen plasma TVs or bartenders who can clue you into the best Hawaiian surfing,
sailing, golf or whatever your pleasure may be.
The Monarch Lounge
Enjoy a full-service bar and light hors d'oeuvres in this quieter and more intimate lounge that’s themed with
the elegant European-inspired style of the Hawaiian monarchs of the nineteenth century.
Nightly live piano or jazz trio performances complete the aura at this location that’s perfect for couples or
small groups.
Baggies
This hey-day of Hawaiian surfing-themed bar named for classic surf shorts provides a place for teenagers to join in
the fun. With nightly DJs or live bands serving up the sound, Baggies offers
all of the excitement and face-pace enjoyment of the Spirit’s other clubs but without the alcohol.
Other Bars and Lounges
Either on deck or in a quiet corner, the Spirit offers a getaway for everyone around the clock at one
of these locations.
Outlook Point
Passengers will
feel like they’re at the top of the world in this full-service lounge that features 360-degree views from the highest
public area on the ship. Guests can watch the sunset or maybe catch radiant Hawaiian
rainbows while sipping fantastic island concoctions,
specialty drinks, champagnes, wine, beer or non-alcoholic thirst-quenchers while taking in breathtaking views from the top
deck of the ship.
Paradise Lounge
Relax and quench your thirst in this quiet alcove located near the adults-only Paradise Pool. Half-enclosed by glass walls, the Lounge looks out at the Kahawai
Run lazy river and waterfalls. Full bar service
with daily drink specials featuring the tastes of Hawaii and Polynesia. A light bar menu will also be available.
Kona
Passengers can unwind and get away from it all to enjoy specialty island coffees and select cocktails at this quiet
midship break from the onboard excitement. Also supplying books, magazines and
Internet connections, this leisurely location will be reserved for guests aged 18 and older.
Hang Loose
This lounge for teens is open afternoons and evenings daily and located within the “most excellent” Kilohana
Club. Loaded with video games, big screen plasma TVs, Internet connections, music,
movies and lots of room to just hang out, Hang Loose will give the almost-adult set their own place to congregate and have
fun. Cast Member counselors allow teens to take part in activities or just hang
back.
Studio High 5ive
Based on Studio Sea
on the Magic and Wonder, but a full three times the size and extending from decks four into five. This colossal family club provides daytime and evening activities for passengers of all ages, from daytime
classes and demonstrations to evening karaoke contests, talent shows and TV-style interactive game shows to after-dinner
family parties. In this sound-stage-meets-high-tech-disco design, kids will feel
like they’ve got their own space and parents will feel like they’re a hip part of the action too. Programming
will include annual live broadcasts by Radio Disney and guest Radio Disney DJs.
Deck Parties
Disney Cruise Line is known for its elaborate deck parties with singers, dancers and favorite Disney characters. And the Spirit will keep that magic growing.
Aloha Party
The sail-away celebration on the Spirit, the Aloha Party literally sets the stage for the fun
and entertainment that will be served up over the cruise. The Spirit’s
stage performers, live band and DJs all keep the crowd on their feet and ready for the days ahead.
Hawaiian Luau
The Spirit’s Luau at Sea invites passengers to wear their muumuus and aloha shirts in celebration
of the spirit of the islands. Rivaling the best parties and entertainment at
any island site, the Spirit’s luau is the most expensive deck party in the history of cruising. Featuring traditional luau food including Kalua pig, poi, grilled mahi mahi and other meats and fishes,
the festivities continue on deck where passengers will be treated to a must-see performance rich in Hawaiian, Polynesian,
Maori and Samoan mythology and history. Quite possibly the most beautiful and unusual production
ever on a cruise ship, the performance includes a spell-binding blend of acrobatics, chants, hula, fire knife dancing, and
much more. Island Mickey, Hula Minnie, Donald, Goofy and friends are there too
to entertain the young ones. This special evening is capped with two fireworks
displays—one following dinner and another at the end of the evening as the spirits bid good night.
Mahalo
Thank you and farewell from the crew of the Spirit. On
the final night of cruising, singing, dancing and entertainment continues to celebrate the journey and say “til we meet
again” to the best cruise experience on the high seas.
Nightly Fireworks
Fireworks follow all deck parties and activities every night on deck.
Times vary so both night owls as well as young children and early risers can experience the magic.
Movies
Buena
Vista Theatre
As on the Magic and Wonder, the state-of-the-art Buena Vista Theatre offers first-run features, classic
films and Disney favorites. Each cruise will offer daytime runs of Lilo and Stitch and classic Disney cartoons, a series of World War II pictures and documentaries focusing on the
war in the Pacific, and a mini-festival of the movies that Elvis filmed in Hawaii—Blue
Hawaii, Girls Girls Girls, and Paradise Hawaiian Style. The concessions stand will now feature beverages, snacks and freshly popped popcorn with real butter.
Poolside Movies
A jumbo LED screen over the Big
Kahuna wave pool features nighttime movies under the stars including a Disney favorite for an up-late night for the kids,
an Elvis classic, and a sing-a-long South Pacific.
