During cocktails and dinner, guests will be treated to a chamber ensemble featuring flute and accompanied by violin and viola.  While widely known for its stringed and keyboard instruments such as organs and harpsichords, Germany has also been a center of flute-making, especially in the nineteenth century.

The flutist will be WPASADI audience member GIminnie.  Ms. GIminnie has studied the flute for fourteen years and has frequently played compositions of the German Romantic period.  As a school marching band member, she traveled to locations including Walt Disney World and contributed to the group’s winning several awards and acclaims.  She has also been trained on viola.  Ms. GIminnie is currently a photographer and a member of the Army National Reserves.

The stringed accompaniment will be played by members of the acclaimed Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra of Eau Clair, Wisconsin, which has performed at numerous special events.

Featuring the talents of GIminnie on flute, the trio will perform various compositions of the German Romantic period (1815-1910) including the works of Robert Schumann, Carl Maria von Weber, Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Franz Liszt and Johann Brahms. Prominently featured will be works of Richard Wagner, the greatest composer of German opera, and beloved by King Ludwig II both as artist and friend.  Also given special prominence will be Ludwig van Beethoven’s triumphant Ode to Joy from his Ninth Symphony and Serenade for flute, violin and viola in D major from Opus 25, Entrata and Allegro.

So that all five hundred guests may enjoy the talents of Ms. GIminnie and her accompanists, a state-of-the-art sound system will subtly amplify their music throughout the Throne Room during cocktails.  Ms. GIminnie will at times also mingle with the crowd to highlight her talents to smaller groups.  Focused soft lighting will also illuminate the trio and give a warm winter glow to the beautifully decorated room.

Following dinner, The Singers’ Hall will host the world-class talents of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  Although originating in New York, the TSO performs winter-themed and holiday music that has already become classic.  In addition, the TSO’s acclaimed concept album Beethoven’s Last Night merges the characteristic sounds of the TSO with the melodies of Beethoven.  Most appropriate to the location, the TSO will preview selections of its upcoming album Night Castle including O Fortuna by German composer Carl Orff.  O Fortuna is the widely-known opening and closing piece of Orff’s “scenic cantata” Carmina Burana, based upon the German medieval poems of the same name.

TSO performances combine "
music that was so melodic it didn't need lyrics" and “lyrics that were so poetic that they didn't need music."  "But once you put the two of them together," founder and composer Paul O'Neill has stated, "the sum of the parts would be greater than the whole, and you couldn't imagine them apart."  Putting his songs within the context of a story gave the music a "third dimension."  Featuring the voices of the very best artists of the classical, rock, Broadway and R & B worlds, each song comes life as an unmatchable musical and emotional experience.

The talents of TSO will be showcased by the most technologically-advanced lighting system available which will both highlight the orchestra and surround The Singers Hall with lighting to emulate the skies of a Bavarian winter night.  Fog and haze effects will accentuate the lighting.  The Singers Hall was designed as both a dining hall and performance space.  The TSO will perform without additional rented amplification as is customary for a professional orchestra in venues of this size.
